Parking for Students Living off Campus

Students living off campus (not in the residence halls) will have free parking in the Hawkeye Commuter Lot or Hancher Parking Lot while they attend On Iowa! activities (once classes begin on Monday, August 21, however, you should obtain a parking permit or take a bus to campus; information about parking and transportation during the academic year are on the back of this handout).

  • On weekdays, students living off‐campus should park in the Hawkeye Commuter Lot, which is on Hawkeye Park Road, accessible by Mormon Trek Boulevard or Melrose Avenue.
  • On Saturday and Sunday, off‐campus students should park in the Hancher Parking Lot on Park Road, near the intersection of Dubuque Street.

The University’s free Cambus will provide shuttles to various campus locations, including the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU), from both parking lots.
