Housing

If you applied for on-campus housing, you will receive an email in starting in May and continuing through the summer with your housing assignment, move-in time, and date. All first-year students are scheduled to move into the residence halls Wednesday-Thursday, Aug. 20-21, unless otherwise notified. Transfer students move in to their halls on Thursday, Aug. 21. Find a list of what to pack on Housing's website.

If you’re not living on campus in the residence halls, make sure you can move in to your apartment or other lodgings prior to Friday, Aug. 22, so that you can participate in On Iowa! activities.

Meals

If you are living in the residence halls, meal service will begin the day you move in. Residents will be issues a special wristband to wear Aug. 19-24 for easy access to the Market Places.

If you are living off campus, or you don’t have a University meal plan, your meals will be provided during the official On Iowa! program (which includes dinner on Friday and dinner on Sunday). You may also eat in the Market Places: $7/breakfast, and $10/lunch or dinner. There is a free special lunch for first-year off-campus students planned on Friday, Aug. 24 (11:30-1:30).
