Once you’ve moved in, be sure to check in for the On Iowa! program in the Second Floor Ballroom, IMU. Bring your university ID card to receive your On Iowa! materials, which includes a class shirt, personalized schedule, and more!
Student check-in is required
All students must check in for On Iowa! prior to the first meeting on Friday, Aug. 18.
All On Iowa participants must check in for the On Iowa! program in the IMU during one of the following days and times (the process takes about 15 minutes):
- Wednesday, August 16 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- Thursday, August 17 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- Friday, August 18 (9 a.m.-2 p.m.).

Phil the Bookshelves Book Drive
All incoming students are invited to bring one children's book to donate, which will help provide hours of entertainment to kids being treated at the UI Children's Hospital. Drop off your book during On Iowa! check-in at the Iowa Memorial Union.
Living On Campus
Residence Hall move in begins on Wednesday, Aug. 16-Thursday, August 17. You are assigned by University Housing & Dining to a day and time to move into your room. Next, check in to On Iowa!; there will be plenty of time to settle into your room before your first session.
Living Off Campus
Check-in at the IMU as early as Wednesday, Aug. 16 or right before the main expected attendance events that begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 18. Students living off campus (not in the residence halls) who cannot walk/bus/bike to campus may request a parking pass for free parking in the Hancher Lot (#55) while attending On Iowa! activities.
Students living off-campus may request free parking in the Hancher Parking Lot (#55) to attend On Iowa! activities that occur on Wednesday, August 16-Friday, August 18 (7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.). [Note that on Tuesday-Friday after 4:30 p.m. and all-day on Saturday and Sunday, parking in Hancher Lot (#55) is free.] Contact the On Iowa program (email@example.com) by Friday, August 11 if you need a parking permit during the days of August 16-18; include your name, dates you are planning to use the permit, and which day you are planning to check-in to the On Iowa program. We will have your permit ready for you when you check-in to the On Iowa program at the IMU (you may use one of the 15-minute meters outside of the IMU during check-in). After the August 11 deadline, free parking permits are made on a first-come, first-served request during the On Iowa Check-in process.
