Housing
If you applied for on-campus housing, you will receive an email in the summer with your housing assignment, move-in time, and date. All students are scheduled to move into the residence halls between Saturday, August 17 through Tuesday, August 20 unless otherwise notified. Find a list of what to pack on Housing's website.
If you’re not living on campus, make sure you check in for the program in the International Ballroom, 2nd Floor of the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU). Check-in begins Sunday, August 18 at 11 a.m. and continues through Thursday, August 22 at 4:00 p.m. with Late Check-in Friday, August 23 at the Welcome Center in the IMU.
Meals
If you are living in the residence halls, meal service will begin the day you move in.
Transportation & Getting Around
- Walking: You will be walking a lot during the program (see the Disability & Mobility Accommodations information below if you need assistance). Be sure to wear appropriate footwear.
- Cambus: There will be special shuttles provided for certain events. Take a look at the On Iowa Transportation page for more information.
- Driving: Students living off-campus (not in the residence halls or cannot walk to campus) may request free parking to attend On Iowa! activities. Contact the On Iowa program (oniowaprogram@uiowa.edu) by Friday, August 16 if you need a parking permit during the days of August 18-25; include your name, dates you are planning to use the permit, and which day you are planning to check in to the On Iowa program. We will have your permit ready for you when you check in to the On Iowa program at the IMU (you may use one of the 15-minute meters outside of the IMU during check-in). After the August 16 deadline, free parking permits are made on a first-come, first-served request during the On Iowa Check-in process.
- If you need to drive to campus for On Iowa! you can park in the Hawkeye Commuter lot at no charge. Catch a free Cambus shuttle to campus.
Disability and Mobility Accommodations
We want to be sure that you’re able to participate fully in On Iowa! If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to participate in this program, please contact the On Iowa program (oniowaprogram@uiowa.edu) by Wednesday, August 9.
