Hawkeye Welcome
This small- group session facilitated by an On Iowa! leader, will give new students an opportunity to interact with other new Hawkeyes and learn academic success tips from University of Iowa! Faculty during a live lecture. Students living in an on-campus residence hall will be assigned sessions based on their residence hall move-in dates. First-year students living off campus and transfer students will be assigned based on the date they check-in to the On Iowa! program. Check your personalized itinerary for your time.
Kick-Off at Kinnick
It's a Hawkeye Tradition! You’ll learn the Iowa Fight Song and some of the traditions that make Iowa such a special place. A fireworks show over the stadium and games on the field will cap off the event. This is where you will feel you have truly joined the Hawkeye family.
Convocation & Block I Photo
Attend a touching ceremony on the beautiful Pentacrest as your official commitment to being a successful Hawkeye, then take your class block I photo. UI President Barbara J. Wilson, faculty, staff, and the student Convocation speaker will officially welcome all new students to campus and kickoff the academic year.
President's Block Party
President Wilson invites you to wrap up the end of the On Iowa! program and celebrate the start of your first semester with free dinner at her house. On Iowa! Go Hawks!
