Hawkeye Welcome

This three-hour session will give new students an opportunity to interact with other new Hawkeyes, engage with the IOWA Challenge during a fun small group session facilitated by an On Iowa! Leader, and learn academic success tips from University of Iowa! Faculty during a live lecture. Students living in an on-campus residence hall will be assigned sessions based on their residence hall move-in dates. First-year students living off campus and transfer students will be assigned based on the date they check-in to the On Iowa! program. Check your personalized itinerary for your time.
Kick-Off at Kinnick
Friday, August 23
It's a Hawkeye Tradition! You’ll learn the Iowa Fight Song and some of the traditions that make Iowa such a special place. A fireworks show over the stadium and games on the field will cap off the event. This is where you will feel you have truly joined the Hawkeye family.
Block I Photo & Convocation
Sunday, August 25
Take your class block I photo and then attend a touching ceremony on the beautiful Pentacrest, as your official commitment to being a successful Hawkeye. The Class of 2028 will be officially welcomed by UI President Barbara J. Wilson, faculty, staff, and the Class of 2028 Convocation speaker.
