The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for our area beginning late Thursday evening through noon on Friday. Windchills could drop below –35 degrees during this time, which could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Extremely cold conditions will continue through Saturday. We urge faculty, staff, and students to use good judgment and avoid serious risks during extreme weather conditions.   

We encourage all students to check with the facility to confirm hours of operation prior to travelling in extreme weather conditions.

Fitness East is located in Halsey Hall, the old Women’s Gymnasium. A portion of the facility was converted to a fitness center in 1999, forming Fitness East. Although smaller than our other facilities, Fitness East houses a variety of cardiovascular and strength training equipment. Locker rooms are also available. Fitness East is a membership access facility - patrons will be required to have a Recreational Services Membership or pay the daily walk-in fee in order to use the facility. Fitness East is located on the northeast corner of Madison and Jefferson streets. The entrance is located off the walkway between Halsey Hall and the IMU Parking Ramp. Parking is available in the IMU parking ramp.
