The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for our area beginning late Thursday evening through noon on Friday. Windchills could drop below –35 degrees during this time, which could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Extremely cold conditions will continue through Saturday. We urge faculty, staff, and students to use good judgment and avoid serious risks during extreme weather conditions.   

We encourage all students to check with the facility to confirm hours of operation prior to travelling in extreme weather conditions.

The Hawkeye Tennis & Rec Complex houses eight indoor and 12 outdoor tennis courts, 6,000 square feet of fitness space, two indoor turf fields, locker rooms and the Outdoor Rental Center. The outdoor courts are named the Klotz Tennis courts, named after former Men’s Tennis Coach, Don Klotz. The HTRC is also the home of the University of Iowa Women's Tennis, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Field Hockey, Softball, and Hawkeye Marching Band.
