On Iowa! for Transfer Students

As part of the transition into the university family, transfer students are welcome to attend the On Iowa! program. Transfer students are already bringing some academic experience from a former institution. On Iowa! will provide a chance to connect with other transfer students, learn about University of Iowa traditions and resources, and explore activities and student organizations on campus.

Transfer students are also welcome to participate in an assigned small group led by an On Iowa! leader. This is a great opportunity to help navigate campus resources. The two-day small group experience - Friday, August 19 (2-8:30 p.m.) and Saturday, August 20 (10:30-noon) - will include: an academic success at Iowa workshop; Kickoff event at Kinnick Stadium; StrengthsQuest overview session; and, an opportunity to explore clubs and organizations.

Are you living in the residence halls? As a participant in the On Iowa program, you may move into your residence hall on either Wednesday, August 17 or Thursday, August 18 and avoid early move-in fees. If you were not originally assigned one of these move-in dates, please officially sign-up for your preferred move-in day.

Besides the small group experience, transfer students are welcome to attend any of the On Iowa! events including college open houses, Saturday night concert, bike tours, movies, and so much more! Make sure to officially check-in to the On Iowa! program in the IMU on Wednesday, Aug. 17 (9-5 p.m.), Thursday Aug. 18 (9-5 p.m.), or Friday, Aug. 19 (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) - it only takes 10 minutes. You can find more information on our full schedule of events. There is no additional charge to participate in the On Iowa! program.
